Many of our members have received training as Stephen Ministers and assist with caring for those in need in our congregation and community. A church-wide effort supports a team of high school students and adult leaders for work in Appalachia each summer, through creative fund-raising events including Sunday Brunches. Brecksville UMC hosts civic organizations for meetings, including groups such as Meals on Wheels, Scouts, and Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12-step programs.The church actively supports local mission work through West Side Community House, First Hispanic UMC, St. Matthew UMC hot meal program, and Habitat for Humanity, among others. In addition to mission giving through the global United Methodist Church, Brecksville UMC supports Bolivian missionaries, CROP Walk for Hunger, and Africa University.
