To broaden the pastoral team during this time of implementation of the Strategic Plan, Russ Martin and the Staff-Parish Relations Committee invited Rev. Libby Kuntz to interview for the position of Associate Pastor of Visitation. This quarter-time appointment was made by Bishop Hopkins.
Libby says, “My husband Bob Kuntz and I have been pastors in the East Ohio Conference since 1979. Bob is serving at Good Shepherd UMC in Parma. Since moving to Parma, I have been on Family Leave to care for my mother who has Alzheimer's Disease. In all of our appointments, I've served as an associate pastor with primary responsibilities in visitation and pastoral care. I perform weddings and funerals, have worked for the Alzheimer's Association leading education programs and support groups for care-givers and have been active in church camping I've also lead retreats for several churches on deepening prayer life and spiritual growth.
“Bob and I have no children, but we enjoy our 20 nieces and nephews and the children and youth of our churches. I'm an avid gardener, love to hike and camp (we often hike in the Brecksville Reservation), and enjoy traveling. Bob and I are leading a group tour of the Holy Land in February, 2007 and welcome any of you who would like to join us on a pilgrimage to explore the land of the Bible.
“I look forward to getting acquainted with you and working with Pastor Karen Oehl. She and I have been friendly for years and I am excited to join her pastoral team in serving Brecksville Church.”
